Bespoke farmhouse kitchen How Stean Gorge

A classic shaker kitchen for country living in the heart of the Nidderdale valley

Deep in the Nidderdale Valley you will find this beautiful handmade shaker kitchen, designed and created with country living in mind.

This beautiful handmade shaker kitchen now lives in the home of the country farmhouse and we love it. When first approached to start the design process, making the most of the space was priority but also making a feature of the house as well. It was decided to make a kitchen that looks classic but has the practicality of a more modern design allowing us to achieve the most out of every millimetre of space.
With birch plywood cabinetry, finished in a satin organic hard wax oil, from the start of our kitchen build we like to think about sustainability and the longevity of your project. No nasty or cheap materials such as MDF or chipboard are used. Our birch plywood cabinets are made to last and have a nice fresh and bright feel. They are cost effective and can be repaired if needs be. This includes our drawers which are made from 18mm birch to be solid and durable, all on soft close runners.
All our shaker doors on this project are made from tulip wood with birch plywood insets. Again no MDF! We don’t have it in the workshop! We like to keep our shaker doors simple with very little mouldings so they last the test of time. Our ethos is that in ten years time your kitchen can be sanded, filled where needs be and repainted to a modern colour scheme and you have the same kitchen as when you bought it. All our shaker doors are on soft close hinges for that extra smooth touch. Our decor ends are all chunky 120mm tong and groove, and are made from tulip wood.
Our customer chose Skimmed Milk from the new Autumn collection by Farrow and ball and handles from From The Anvil. Both companies we use a lot and can highly recommend. Please feel free to contact us on our Contacts page regarding our bespoke kitchens and we will be happy to answer any of your questions.
